Kilmarnock supporters have been making a big difference beyond Rugby Park, donating almost 20 tonnes of food through the Killie Foodbanks initiative since the club's return to the Premiership in 2022. The initiative, led by organiser Robert Foster, has helped local individuals and families facing hardship across East Ayrshire. The success of the project perfectly captures what Kilmarnock Football Club is all about, with fans and club putting the unity in community. "Fans and club put the unity in community," Foster told the Killie Chronicle. "We hear all the time in Scotland that football clubs are community clubs but at Kilmarnock we certainly put our money where our mouth is." The numbers are impressive, with thousands of Easter eggs collected to ensure local children receive a treat at Easter, and thousands of Christmas selection boxes donated to help families enjoy some festive cheer during what can often be the most financially difficult time of the year. Cash donations have also made a significant difference, with thousands of pounds donated to The Killie Community Christmas hamper appeal and providing lunches to all the kids that attend the summer camps. Every donation represents a supporter deciding to help someone they may never meet, with small acts of kindness collectively making a huge difference. "What difference do fans actually make?" Foster asked. "A tin of soup. A packet of pasta. A bag of rice. Small acts of kindness that, collectively, have made a huge difference."
